I chose a type designer and created a poster, ticket, invitation, and book to advertise a gallery showing off the designer’s work. Erik Spiekermann is a German type designer who is famous for signage type. He has created type for clients including Volkswagen, Dusseldork Airport, Audi and Berlin Transit. I used some of his sign arrows to create a pattern that is displayed throughout all four works.
The object was to create a write up on the technology driven magazine, Wired using an article on handmade crafts being sold through Etsy. The article describes the growing pains of Etsy and how popular, smaller sellers struggle to maintain their homemade nitche. The imagery throughout the special edition magazine highlights these one-man shops and how they are finding ways to prevail.
New Ecology Inc. is a non-profit, green building organization which specializes in planning sustainable, affordable housing. NEI hoped to redesign their logo to a mark which was "modern and organic".
I wanted to create an image that could be interpreted in multiple ways, yet all suggesting global and green energy. The rebranding includes a website homepage, letterhead, envelopes and business cards.
The goal of this project was to improve the way TripAdvisor shows multiple languages that are available within a specific tour. For instance, if a traveler speaks only French, and are searching guided tours in London, they would need to make sure when they select their tour, that it’s available in French.
Before this project was carried through, the traveler was only able to view and select a language at the check out page. This project brought the language selector to a page much earlier on in the traveler’s viewing process, with a treatment that is more clear and comprehensive.
The previous design listed all the languages the tour had on the product display page, however, did not let the user select the language. Only allowing users to select a language at checkout potentially made it so that their language was not available for the tour on the specific day they chose.
The new design now gives the traveler the option to select a language earlier on in the funnel.
